Auskick 2024

Auskick Rookies

Auskick Rookie is where champions begin.

The program is for boys and girls turning 5 or 6 in 2024, or those that are turning 7 and are not yet ready for the next level, AusKick Pro.

AusKick Rookie is a fun, engaging program that teaches the basic skills of AFL (kicking, handballing & marking). AusKick Rookie also teaches kids the key attributes and qualities that make a great AFL player: teamwork, sportsmanship and commitment.

The program is run by Coach Jimmy and Josh Naden. The program has been refined over several seasons to provide AusKickers with the most innovative, interactive games of any AusKick in the region.

On the day, AusKick Rookies should wear comfortable clothes (club colours or any AFL gear is encouraged). Footwear is not limited only to football boots. Any footwear which can kick a ball without discomfort issatisfactory.

The AusKick Rookie program is completely non-contact, and a safe, welcoming environment for all.

Any AusKickers born in 2018 which the coaches, or parent/guardian, deem ready to play AusKick Pro, will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Auskick Pro

For many of the Auskickers, Auskick Pros (Under 8s) is the exciting next step in their footy journey. The program is for boys and girls (who wish to play mixed football) turning 7 or 8 in 2024 (born in 2016 or 2017).

Each Saturday Auskick Pros will get to play non-contact AFL games against opposition clubs. Games start at 1:30pm and finish by 2:30pm.

Just like older age groups, the Auskick Pros will have an optional training session during the week. Auskick Pro training will be Wednesday afternoons 4:30pm - 5:30pm at Amaroo Oval. All players are encouraged to attend to continue to develop their skills.

Training sessions will begin on the 6 March 2024. Six sessions will be held to round out the remainder of Term 1. This is to ensure kids are familiar with teammates and feel comfortable/confident with the key AFL skills (kicking and handballing primarily) before playing against opposition teams in Term 2.

For the first time in 2024, Jets will also offer a Girls Only Auskick Pro team.

More information on this to come.
