The Jets on Full Display at Manuka

What about Saturday night?!?!
What an experience for 18 of our AusKick Pros; donning the orange and charcoalĀ of the GWS Giants or the teal, black and white of Port Adelaide, running out onto Manuka Oval under lights in front of almost 10,000 people, and putting on a show.
It takes a bit of coordination to make Halftime AusKicks happen, and a lot of standing around in the cold – but it’s all worth it for the thrill of Halftime!
Thank you to Olivia and Rick for being Goal Umpires, and Ben Woodhams for assisting with the on-field officiating (and fetching the footy out of the interchange bench).
Some awesome goals were kicked, and pieces of play by the kids.
What’s most pleasing was seeing every child have their moment with the ball – it felt like some kids had like a dozen moments.
Considering the talent in the group, in a handful of years there will be a number of kids in the Giants Academy, playing at Manuka Oval to try and impress AFL scouts, and who knows, maybe one of our 18 kids who played last night will be wearing Giants or Power colours in the back part of the 2030s, kicking goals in prime time.
This coming Thursday afternoon we re-commence training, as we now transition into the next block of gamesĀ for the 2025 season!
Go Jets.
