Hard-nosed midfielder, Matt Sheldon, commits to the Gungahlin Jets for 2019.
The 23-year-old returned to the Jets in 2018 after a year out of football. Prior to this, Matt made his transition from the Jets juniors to Ainslie seeking to play a higher level of football. At that time, something the Jets could not offer
him. Now, times have changed.
Matt has enjoyed playing every match this year and has been a key driver behind the improved teams’ performance and competitiveness in a tough Division 1 competition.
Matt credits his enjoyable 2018 season to the developing culture at the Jets.
“I like how the Jets have such a positive, welcoming vibe about them. They’ve taken on new players and made each and every one of us feel like family. I like that they have the perfect balance between fun & professional footy.”
Matt also looks forward to 2019 and to contribute to the growing Jets community.
“In 2019 I think you will start to see the Jets bond together more as a team and as one club. I think the positive mindset throughout the club and the willingness to become successful as a community will be shown not only by the results on the field but also the amount of support on the sideline. I’m proud to be a part of the Jet’s journey and excited for what’s to come in 2019.”
